Altered Mini Birdhouse

This is an altered mini birdhouse that I just did with some great products from the Simply Scrapping Store! The birdhouse was a gift from a friend, so I'm not sure where exactly it originates... it's just a basic chipboard one. Maya Road has similar stuff. The cardstock is all from Glitz Design: The Sparrow Collection ... which I have to say, is AWESOME!! This is one of my favorite new collections out this year! I first covered the birdhouse with the Glitz Designs paper. Afterwards I attached my flowers with a low temp glue gun then put the Icons in the centers of them. I used the Liquid pearl to add a little "something" to the petals of the flowers. My grungeboard bird is also covered with the Glitz Designs paper. I cut him a little wing from the paper as well. I used the acrylic paint to distress him a bit and used a brad for his eye. I painted the perch for the birdhouse with the acrylic paint as well. I cut the "Home Tweet Home" sign from the Scenic Route packaging and used Glimmer Mist to dress it up and make it look more like wood. Then I cut off random parts of it to give it more of a real feel. Using my Opaque White pen, I wrote the "Home Tweet Home" I also used Liquid pearl to add some painted flowers on the sign. As an added touch I put some extra embellishments on the sides of the birdhouse and added some extra decorative ribbon to it in order to hang it up. I don't normally do a lot of altered work, but I had been dying to use this birdhouse and as soon as I saw the Glitz Designs paper, I had to make this! Enjoy!!!
