Butterfly Patchwork - Art Journal Page

I love butterflies. If I could include them in every piece of art I make, I would. I do try to include them in as many pieces as I can, even if in a subtle way. I'm lucky enough to have a little girl in my house who loves them the way I do. At least she will compliment my butterfly artwork when I make it!

My journal page today is full of butterflies. When I was at my LSS, Speedy Scrappers, I found these fantastic Studio Calico butterfly masks:

There was a page in my journal which I had just been doodling on. It was a patchwork looking page. The page was inspired by Dyan Reaveley's patchwork journal pages, which are gorgeous!! Click HERE for the video where Dyan shares how she creates these stunning pieces of art!

So using my new found butterflies, I made this page:

There are two quotes going around the border, which are: "Life is like a butterfly- you go through some changes before you become something beautiful."  and "No one can do it for you, chose to use your wings."

Nice quotes to go with some butterflies. The black and white in contrast to the colors is so fun to me! Not to mention, seeing butterflies and bright colors makes me think of Spring and Summer. I know so many of us have had really rough winters.. making pages like this allows me to get through the winter.

May your day be fun, colorful and full of happiness!!

Oh, and my LSS is currently having a Design Team call.. they are looking for some local and out of town designers! See the full post HERE!
