Believe in Love - Art Journal Page

I am a closet romantic. Closet being the key word. I secretly want romance, but the truth is, I don't know how to handle it if I get it. I have one of the world's best men for a fiance'. He is super smart, funny, adorable and well... not bad in other ways. ;)

I often give him sh!t about not being romantic. Do I wish he would bring me flowers more? Um, sometimes... but mainly no because they don't last very long, and I hate having a pile up of vases.. yet I criticize him for this. To my fiance': I'm sorry. I love that you listen to me and know that my b!tching will pass. :) Would I like a handwritten love note every now and then? Yeah, but I often wonder if I would end up giggling while reading it because I am not used to him quoting poetry or being overly romantic. So, and I love you note would be sufficient... just not a poem. That might get weird.

It wasn't love at first site when I met him. It wasn't love at first anything... it was an annoying guy. A cute annoying guy. I love him though. That happened within a reasonable amount of time. He is perfect for me. He complements me. I love that he is my opposite, yet we have a lot in common. I wouldn't trade him, or the lack of romance for anything.

I should just believe in the love.. the love he has for me, and that it is true. I need to not doubt how he feels just because I don't get massages or back rubs, or love notes. It is not an indication of his true feelings. The man loves me madly.... or he wouldn't be with my crazy a$$. He has been there for me when others would have walked. He stood by my side through things I don't think I could have stood through for anyone other than my children. He is my rock, my constant.

Today's page is a reminder to myself to believe in his love more...

Gorgeous page, and beautiful words. I think we all need to take time to appreciate the relationships we have, and what is so wonderful about them. Not what convention says is wonderful, but what we cherish so much.
