Guess what? I did it! This year I actually am AHEAD of the game when it comes to my Dec. Daily, or JYC as I am calling it. I am doing Shimelle's JYC class again this year and actually have a bunch of my album complete already. Since I decided to make a doorstop and do a 6x6 album, it has been really easy putting it together. I have approximately half of my pages actually together and just ready for photos, journaling and minimal embellishments which is WAY more than I had completed last year. We learn from our mistakes and this is one that I learned well. To keep up with a daily album, I really need to start small, and early. At least a couple of weeks in advance.
I wanted to share with you the cover of my album and some close up shots.

I love the colors, and the simplicity of it. I found the largest book rings I thought I would need at the office supply store across the street. I think I may need to go back and get the largest size though. LOL I realized when I started putting the pages together it was going to be bigger than I thought. Oh well. I know it will be what you call a doorstop when it is all finished, and honestly, that was my intention. I love fat, little mini albums that are just waiting to be looked through!
Recently I have fallen in love with using little tags. I have been using them in everything it seems... and this album is the PERFECT piece to use them in. So you will see a lot of tags throughout it over the next month!
I also decided to start this album on the day we decorated our house and tree, which happened to be the day before Thanksgiving. Normally it would be the day after Thanksgiving, but the kids were going to be at their dad's house, and we were excited to get out the stuff. So my album starts on the 23rd of November and will go through the beginning of January, to the 6th. Basically through the 12 days of Christmas. I think that's the right date. Don't quote me on that! What I love about my album is that I can add and subtract the pages really easily and include extra goodies whenever and wherever I want within the album. I'm planning on adding an envelope for cards, tags, etc. Just a nice way to save any keepsakes.
I will take more photos of my pages soon, and share them. Right now, I don't have any photos in the album because I am waiting on them to come in. I have decided to order my photos this year rather than print from home for price reasons and because of quality. So, unfortunately it will mean that my shares will be later than the actual day, unless you don't' mind seeing photo-less pages!
Hope you all have a wonderful day!!!!

This is really a great project. It will be a great memento for us and the kids for many years to come.
Your pages are gorgeous!! I agree with keeping it small - I try to have all my pages prepped in advance so that on the day, I can just drop in pictures and journaling. I like to post mine each day throughout the month, and that helps keep me getting it done!
Also, thank you for all your wonderful comments on my blog!!
Lovely cover, I really like the way your layered the tag!
I can't agree with you more that getting the JYC album prepped is half the battle! Yours looks great, and there's nothing like a doorstop of an album to enjoy looking through! Hope you have fun!
Thanks for dropping by my blog and PS your mixed media art is fabby!
