He is So Cute!! - Pretty Paper Party

Well, I had a job interview today. Please keep your fingers crossed for me as this is a job that we could really use for the family. It will be steady and provide more of an income for our family. I am tired of switching jobs, I know so far this year I have done it enough, but I am just trying to find something that will make me happy so that I can provide for my babies. It's so hard. I'm fortunate that I have the experience in this industry so that it makes it easy for me to at least get interviewed and offered positions. However, it's always tough to actually capture the job. I'd really like this job... it would just be great for us!!!

Well, I should probably get to the main reason for the post this morning... I have another layout from Shimelle's Pretty Paper Party that I finished just the other day. I can't tell you how much this class has gotten me using up my scraps and every little bit of my paper! It's fantastic!! The basic things I have needed since starting is adhesive and cardstock. LOL, I never thought I would get to the point where I wasn't adding to my patterned paper stash and buying cardstock instead.

This layout was done for the 10th prompt which was about stamping on your project and scraps of paper. It's not always easy to use up your scraps, but one good way is to stamp on them and turn them into something different in order to use them. Which is what I did for this layout. I used three different stamps for this layout... the triangles, the arrow and the scalloped journaling stamp.

My apologies for the lighting... the layout started to curl at the bottom because of the misting I did on it. I need to flatten it a bit. I used a Studio Calico kit to make this adorable layout of my cute kitty. I love that grey and white patterned paper. It's super cute!!! The mist is Glimmer Mist in pumpkin. Sooooo lovely and glimmery!! It's funny, I am NOT a sparkle girl unless it is in a very minimal. Which is why I prefer mists for my glitter on layouts. On a rare occasion I will pull out my actual glitter, but it is very rare. Glitter is so messy, and I usually am brushing it off of myself and out of random places for weeks after using it. Does anyone else have this problem? I swear it just sticks to you! Not only that, but even after you shower, it still seems to appear in random places on your body! Keith knows when I have been using it, even if he never sees the project it went on. It tends to get dragged around the house, by myself, the kids or the cats.

Well, I think it's time for me to take a cat nap.... I'm going to get some rest and hopefully get rid of the headache that I have.

Have a great day!

That looks like a very fun class. I really wanted to take it but I have too many things going on right now. Maybe I'll do it self-paced after the holidays. Great layout!

I just recently came across Shimelle's work...she is a sweet person and like some of her ideas. You did great on your layout...I have never used glimmer on my layout but I do know what you mean with the glitter...
GOOD LUCK with your JOB interview!!! Wish you the best Emily!!!

FABULOUS layout Em! Great use of scraps...which we all have a ton of right? lol ;) I too have a glitter problem...but...it usually ends up more on the dogs than on me. They sprinkle it all over the houe too! I love that kitty cat to pieces!!!

Love you even more though! Miss you Sistah <3

Great way to use up some scraps!

I do find that the paper can curl a lot with mists (less so if I leave it to dry under a heavy book). The heat gun seems to make it worse for me. Thought I would leave you with a tip for photographing, since it's what I do. I use removable Glue Dots on the back of the layout to 'glue' it down flat for photographing. (I find that most layouts flatten out pretty good over time in albums)

(ps - good luck with the job interview!)
