I'm not sure if I ever shared this bit of information, but when Serenity was a baby I used to call her my baby alien. She was cute to me of course, but I'm not sure how she looked to others. She had the funniest ears... big and pointy on the tips. Please don't think I am a mean mother, I'm just being honest. I heard the phrase once that every mother thinks that their baby is the cutest and the best. I don't really believe that is true. I didn't think that Serenity was always the cutest. She was beautiful to me, yes, but I know that not everyone who saw her felt that way. That doesn't make me awful, does it?
The reason that I tell you this is because it explains the title of my layout share for today. I've titled it Baby Alien because it was around this age of Serenity in the photos that she started to get her little alien look. I do think she is extremely cute in this photo, but still has my alien baby look.
The 12th prompt for Shimelle's Pretty Paper Party is about finding inspiration from a project of your own and creating another project from that inspiration. After I created this layout, I created a couple of cards that were inspired by the layout. I used scraps from the layout to make the two cards below.
I also made this layout using a photo of Keith and I from his brothers wedding. I love the embossed Core'dinations cardstock. It is so fun to use. Totally great for misting and distressing, which is what I did here. I love doilies and purchased some back in October when I was buying supplies for Serenity's birthday cake in the cake section of Michaels. They sell large packs of them really cheap. So while I was in that section I grabbed several different sizes of them for my crafting projects.
Keith and I have been together four years now. Its still really hard to believe it has been that long. I was with the kids dad for a little over two years. That seemed like a really long time! And here it is almost five years with Keith. We have had some major ups and downs, mainly because of me, but we keep working it out. That's just a part of being in a relationship... working it out.
After making the layout, I made the card below from inspiration drawn from the layout.
It's very very simple, but I really like it!
Well, I hope you have enjoyed my share with you today! I'm almost finished with Shimelle's Pretty Paper Party, and am ready to start her Journal Your Christmas Class for this year. I am determined to finish this year!! I am going to be making a mini album for it, so hopefully it will make it easier for me to keep up with the prompts. I am going to start making the mini this week. Seems like a great Thanksgiving project for me!
Hope you are having a wonderful day and the weather where you are is better than our rainy day here!!!
