Journal Your Christmas Day 3

Day 3's prompt for Shimelle's Journal Your Christmas was about cards. Most of you know, I am only a card maker if I have to. I love making layouts, and probably always will. They are so much more personal for me, and you can share more history in them for future generations. Which is my main reason for scrapbooking. To preserve that history for my family.

 It's funny, I used to think that those who made cards made them because they were quicker and easier to make than layouts..... NOT!!! I take my hat's off to those of you who make cards.... those things can be HARD to make!! Layouts provide much more room to embellish... with cards you really have to think about how you would like it too look, or else you will end up with a very gaudy card. Not only that, but there are stamps, copics, digital stamps and so many other things out there now that card makers use to complete their cards. You are truly artists!!! I'm simply amazed at some of the cards my friends make, and then upon looking at them closely, realize they had to have taken HOURS to complete. So Hooray for card makers!!! I'm very impressed with you!!

One of the first things I used for this prompt, was this card below that I received from my friend Niki in Chicago. We were roommates at Show Choir Camp for years in High School. She will forever be my bestie! Love you Niki!! 

This is a mini layout that I completed for the other side of the above reindeer card. Pretty much all Making Memories Noel collection here. 

I loved this page full of ATC size slots.... I created various cards and embellished some... others are pieces cut from Chrismas Cards that I have received over the years. I thought it would be a great way to pay tribute to some of my favorites.

Here is the mini page side by side with the other page. they look awesome in the album! I'm proud of myself for staying away from 12x12 this time! The pages don't take as long to complete and I am trying something new in the process!! 

I obviously have quite a few more pages to go for this month. I plan on working on some more tonight hopefully, after I get off of work. I will see how I am feeling. I have had this cold and a cough that mainly keeps me up at night. It is driving me bonkers! And Keith as well. I feel bad for him. I'm sure every time I cough he wakes up. Guess that's how it is when you love someone....
