I am so frustrated. Austin's bike got stolen last night from the playground over at Forest Park when Keith took him there yesterday evening. He said he was away from it for about an hour between 6 and 7pm. It was parked by the other bikes where we normally park Renny's stroller if we take her.
He said there were a lot of people and kids there, so who knows. It was a really nice 12" MX Tonka Racer bike that was black with yellow trim and had training wheels. WHO IS CRUEL ENOUGH TO STEAL A 5 YEAR OLD'S BIKE WITH TRAINING WHEELS??!!!! What is wrong with people!!!???????????????
I am irate, ok, I admit it. It's just sad to think there are people like that out there. I admit it, we didn't have the bike locked up. I never thought we would have to though for a little kids bike that small! I was wrong, I admit it. Very wrong. Keith feels so bad. I don't blame him at all... the same thing would have happened if I had taken him there. Stuff happens.
We will just learn from this and buy a lock for the bike when we get the next bike.
I don't even want to go into how Austin feels about this. He asked me this morning on the way to his dad's why someone would take something that doesn't belong to them. How do you answer that? How do I tell my son that some people in this world just don't care? That this may happen to him when he gets older? Geeze.....
I can't wait until we have a new bike for him. Ugh.
