3 Girl JAM/Creative Inspirations Paint BLOG HOP!!!

Welcome to the 3 Girl JAM/Creative Inspiration Paints blog hop! If you came from Kassi's blog then you are in the right place. If not and you would like to start at the beginning please go HERE

3 Girl JAM

3 Girl Jam and Creative Inspiration Paints have teamed up to show you all the fun things you can create with ribbon and paint! Make sure to check out our stores to see the latest and greatest product that you can use on your own projects!

I was lucky enough to play with goodies from both Creative Inspirations Paint AND 3 Girl Jam... and here is what I created:

I made this layout using the Spooky Bundle from 3Girl Jam which includes Witches Brew and Goblin Green. I twisted the two of them together to mimic streamers like the ones that were a part of my birthday decorations. The colors are similar to the ones at my party. :) From my CI Paint stash I used Green Olive, Tickled Pink and Plum.

Some close-ups of the paints and ribbon.

My second project was another layout....

This layout used the Caribbean Splash Bundle ribbon which includes Coral Crush and Aqua Splash. CI Paints used were Sea Foam, Rose Quartz, and Antique Silver.

Below are some close-ups...

My last two projects used the same ribbons and paints. Mainly because I used the same paper pack! :)

The Celebrations Bundle was used for these two projects which includes Tuxedo and Sterling crinkle ribbon. I adore these two ribbons!! I'm definitely going to get myself some more! Paints used were Coal, Fairy Dust, Winter Frost and Ivory. I also used Resplendence Angel Dust on the creamy white hearts. SS30 Clear Jeweled Inspirations were used on the card on each side of the sentiment. The mini canvas has the Tuxedo ribbon and coal paint on it. I did not use them on my card... instead I used the Sterling ribbon and other paints listed.

The papers and corrugated cardboard are from the Fancy Pants Country Boutique Wedding kit. It worked great with the ribbons and paints I had.

Hope you've enjoyed my inspiration... now on to the good stuff!!

JYC Share - Several Pages!

I know that Christmas is over and that JYC is also over, but I have been finishing up my pages and taking pictures of them when they are completed so that I can share them with you!!

I have five of my pages from December to share with you today. My apologies for not sharing them when I completed them originally... you know how it goes!

Dec 22 - This is my list of things left to do in the few days until Christmas. Still seems like there was so much left to do!!!

Dec 24 - Christmas Eve!! I shared what we did on our Christmas Eve, which was open our gifts. I also talk about how much I love spending time with my family.

Dec 28 - My holiday weakness is discussed, which is a spiced pumpkin latte from Starbucks. I can not wait until the season for these to come out!!! It is my favorite drink of all time from Starbucks!

Dec 29 - One of the other events that occurred in December was Austin's Birthday. It was on the 11th of December, and he turned 8 years old. So hard to believe he is that old already! How time flies!

Dec 30 - Just a quick recap of some of the things from my year in 2011. I decided to share my year in numbers. This is a very simple, quick and fun way to recap a year, month, week or day. I love doing pages this way.

Did you finish your JYC or Dec Daily for this Christmas Season 2011?? I'd love to see! If I haven't been by your blog to see some of your shares, please leave your link in the comments section so that I can stop by and give you some love!!!

JYC - Dec 2 & 14 - 16

Well, Christmas is over, but holiday excursions are still going on in my neck of the woods. The kids went to their dad's yesterday afternoon and had their Christmas with him today. They got spoiled once again by Santa. :) Serenity got her Easy Bake Oven left at her Dad's. She was super excited according to her Dad. And Austin got a Nintendo DS. So they will have some fun things to play with for a while. I have some photos from our Christmas here to share but that will be another post.

Right now, I have some pages from my JYC album that I finally completed as I am playing catch up. As you can see, one of the pages dates back to the 2nd of December. I had to wait for some photos to come in before I finished some of my pages and this was one of them.

The 2nd of December I discussed the weather around here during this time of year. We haven't had even a lick of snow yet! It's just been rain, cold and leaves blowing around. So I got a good shot of the leaves on the ground for this page and added some lovely Prima leaves to go along with it.

On the 14th I explained how we go through the process of opening gifts on Christmas morning. We generally have the kids take turns handing out the gifts. Sometimes we do it. It just depends, but most of the time it is the kids. They are good about it and usually don't fight....much that is. :)

When it comes to having visitors during the holidays, we normally don't. We are the ones visiting others. Every year after we celebrate Christmas we take a trip to Ohio to see Keith's parents. So I made my visitors page on the 15th about how we go to visit them every year. This year, however it will only be Keith and the kids going since I have to be at work this week and can't get off since it is a new job. That's okay though, I really just want the kids to have fun. That's what is most important. They are super excited to leave on Wednesday morning. When I head off for work, they will probably be heading out on the road. I will really miss them. Luckily they won't be gone too long.

On the 16th it was all about what you are grateful for. This year I am most grateful for my family. They have been so supportive with all of the stuff that went on with me regarding my job situation this year. Especially Keith....he is the best boyfriend a girl could ask for. I'm blessed, and very grateful we found one another almost five years ago. I know we will be together for the rest of our lives. :)

I hope you have enjoyed my share this evening. Tomorrow I will be up bright and early to go to work. I'm happy to be going back. I'll have some more shares of my JYC album and also photos from Christmas for you within the next few days.

JYC - Dec 10 & 11

Time for another JYC pages share!! I love moments like this! Seriously, I do. :) Creating this album has been  a fantastic project for me this month. It's quite fun making these mini layouts and expressing myself more with my journaling. I don't normally journal so extensively, but I have been for my JYC album.

These two pages are from the 10th and 11th of this month.

The 10th was about gift wrapping. Believe it or not, even though I am a crafter, I stink at wrapping gifts! I would be better off buying gift bags for everything. I did do that one year. However, I didn't like the way it looked, not to mention it is really hard to pack a Rondo full of gift bags. At least you can stack presents. For me it's the thought behind a hand wrapped gift that counts, regardless of how it turns out looking. Keith's mom is an expert gift wrapper. She can turn a gift into a piece of art. When we go to visit her for the holidays I'll be sure to take photos of the gifts she wraps. It looks like something out of a home decor magazine. Seriously. It's so awesome to look at, and when you get your gift, you don't even want to open it. I have saved some of her bows and ties over the years because they are so beautiful. I would love to be able to wrap gifts like that!

The 11th was about our Christmas Tree. We use an artificial tree. I would love to have a real one, but it just isn't a good idea at this point in our lives. We would probably kill it. I can picture it not getting watered and the cat getting electrocuted like in Christmas Vacation. Yikes! Not a pretty picture. We decorate the tree together and the kids put up all of their ornaments first, then they help Keith and I with the rest. The last ones that go on are the ones that belonged to my great-grandmother and grandparents. It's fun to tell the kids about them. They are handmade ornaments and super cute. I love our modge podge of ornaments and how it looks on the tree. It's fun and I love fun trees! Maybe one day we will have a themed tree, but while there are kids in the house, I'm not going to push the issue.

Well, only ten more days!!! Hope you had a wonderful day!!

JYC - Dec 8 & 9

Well, it's Monday again, and the start of another week, and we are only twelve days away from Christmas!! Are you ready? I'm sure you have been asked that a million times already! I know I have. And the answer for me is NO, I am not ready. There are still a lot of things to get done... finish shopping, wrap gifts, buy stocking stuffers, make more holiday gifts, and finish mailing the rest of my Christmas cards. Yes, I still have some cards to mail. Oops! They are actually getting mailed out tomorrow though, so they should get everywhere they need to be in time!

I have some more JYC pages to share from over the past few days. These pages are from the 8th and the 9th of December.

On the 8th we discussed the signs of Christmas that we can see in our city, neighborhood, home and more. I decided that I would share the signs of Christmas in my home and others that I know. The pretty ornaments coming out and being put on the tree, the lighted and decorated tree, you know, all of the pretty stuff! I included a photo of my sisters Christmas tree and some shots of a couple of the ornaments on my tree. I used a circle punch to cut out the photos and mat them on some pretty patterned paper.

The 9th of the month was about our Holiday Traditions. On my page for this day I shared our tradition of making homemade ornaments with the kids each year. We try to make different kinds each year. Then we hang them on our tree and give some away as gifts or as part of the gift wrapping! Another tradition we have is our annual trip to Ohio to visit Keith's family during the holiday season. We generally wait until after Christmas and go closer to New Years. I can't wait for our trip this year!

Having grown up not celebrating Christmas I am loving creating new traditions with my own family over these years. It means so much to the kids and to see them happy means a lot to me!

On another note, I wanted to share with you that I just got a new job!!! I will be working for k. hall designs in the manufacturing/production department. Yes, I know, totally not a hotel, but this will be stress free, and I get to help add handmade touches to awesome products!!

Here is a link for a tour of this awesome place:

Pretty Paper Party Time! Let's make a kit!

Time for prompt 3 of Shimelle's Pretty Paper Party!! This prompt was about selecting papers that coordinate and using a concentrated design to make a very patterned layout work.

I forgot to take pictures of the papers that I originally chose for this prompt. Oops! :)

However, I did take pictures of the projects that I created from it! These aren't the best I've done, but I feel satisfied for now. I plan on going back and fixing a few things, as well as adding some embellishments, but that will be at a later time.

Here's what I made.....

For the rest of you who are at the party, how are the prompts going for you?? I have been trying to get around to as many blogs as possible to see what everyone is up to! I'm loving the projects I am seeing!

Have a great day!!!

Don't Monkey Around with a Home Run! - Pretty Paper Party

Wow! Some more layouts! I'm so stinkin' proud of myself!! This is three layouts now that I have made in the past few days!! I love it!

I'm currently taking Shimelle's Pretty Paper Party Class and loving it. I am behind on the prompts, by two, but that is okay. I'm taking my time and enjoying myself. These layouts I made for the second prompt which was about using all patterned papers on your layouts. I must admit, this is harder than it looks. I do love using patterned papers already for backgrounds, so that was easy... it was a little harder using all patterned papers for the rest. However, I made it work!

I used one of my Lucky Girl Crafts kits to make this layout. It had plenty of coordinating patterned papers so I didn't have to choose my own. I'm a little nervous about that as I have worked with more kits than anything in the past. I can do it though! I have faith!!

This second layout was the first one I did, and I realized that, oops, I used plain cardstock for the photo mats. Oh well... I'm still counting this layout!

I love my little flower in between the two photos of  Renny!! The papers are Jenni Bowlin papers I got from Crafty Steals. That was a great steal!!!

In other news Renny is feeling better tonight. She slept most of the day and after her medicine kicked in she was ready to do stuff. However, that did wear off and she fell asleep right away after stories. I am keeping my fingers crossed that she doesn't have a fever in the morning. There is only a half day of school tomorrow so hopefully all will be fine. :)

What projects have you been creating??

I have been a busy little bee....

Now that I have some more free time on my hands, I have been creating more. I have been catching up on scrapping some of the many photos that I have printed out. All of the layouts in this post use photos that were taken with my iPhone.... I love that gadget of mine. I don't have the 4, but I love mine, even without the flash for the camera.

Anyway..... on to the layouts.

We took Keith's parents to Bellfontaine Cemetery when they came to visit us at the beginning of summer. For those who aren't familiar with the St. Louis area and it's history, this cemetery is a very famous one. It is the final resting place to many famous people who made St. Louis their home. The monuments are absolutely gorgeous, and so detailed. I took quite a few photos as we were walking along the path. So I have plenty to work with! If you get a chance to come to St. Louis and you are looking for something free and historic to see, come here. There is a walking tour you take on your own, just by following the line in the road, and reading in the free guidebook they give you. All of the famous monuments are marked with numbers, so it isn't hard at all!

We were playing baseball with the kids a while back, and after we had picked up everything, the kids decided that they were going to spy on our neighbors. I think they heard the little girl from next door, and that is what originally prompted them, but they were seriously spying. They kept whispering and putting their heads together, and then would come tell me what they saw very quietly. I know the neighbors must LOVE us. LOL

I know, I know... she really isn't ALWAYS so sweet. Recently she has been though. I just really liked this photo of her. She just LOOKS sweet!!

I'm a sucker for pretty flowers. I love taking pictures of them. Because there were so many on the walk in the cemetery, I got a TON of shots, some of which I put in this layout. I have been trying to use up my scraps these days, before going on to using full pieces of PP. I have this drawer at my desk that is full of scraps. Large and small. It's crazy. I could make probably 100 layouts just from my scraps.

I love my coffee. Hands down. If I don't get it in the morning, don't talk to me. There has always been a rule where I worked that until I have my first two cups of coffee for the day, you better not talk to me. It won't be pretty if you do. I have had many staff regret talking to me before I got my coffee in me. LOL

Last, but not least, one of the cutest boys on the planet... my nephew, Aiden. Don't you just love the face he is making in the first photo? Luckily, he was all smiles in the next one. Kids change moods so fast sometimes. Not much different than a lot of adults that I know!

Hope you all enjoyed my shares! I'll be back with another project later!!!
