Up Up Away - Journal52 Art Journal

Remember my obsession with butterflies? The one I talked about HERE? I have another butterfly page to share today. :) I know how you all just love my butterflies... ;) 

In my art journaling quest, I've learned a lot more about myself as a person and as an artist. Since art journaling is still so new to me, I am finding myself and the style that will be MINE. Most of us as artists go through this at one time or another. For some of us, this will happen multiple times. 

Because I was unsure where to start with some pages, I have found some free Art Journal classes online. Many I found through other artists, but others were via good old Google. The free one I've been focused on is called Journal52 in which you receive weekly prompts. There is also a Facebook Group where work is shared, everyone can chat, and ask questions as needed. It's fun. I've really been focused on it recently. I'm behind as always, but I don't feel pressured.

Neocolor crayons and Inktense blocks were used to make the background. I added some acrylic paint to tone the background down along with some stamping. My large butterfly was made using modeling paste through a Crafters Workshop stencil. The colors of the page absorbed into the modeling paste... so yummy!
