She IS Brave

(Please Note: This post has links to some much older posts of mine that explain some of what I elude to in this post.)

The dictionary defines Brave as : feeling or showing no fear : not afraid    Am I brave? I would like to say I am most of the time, but that would be a lie. So many things frighten me about life, and in my life. I could list them, but we may be here all day.

But I force myself to tough it through situations I am not comfortable in and be brave. This isn't the brave like someone who performs a heroic feat, it's the brave that allows you to make it through a really tough situation, or time in your life. I like to think I have been brave, in my own eyes, regarding certain situations. These situations are so personal and internal though, that not all would understand.

Constantly I remind myself that it isn't that bad, and that I will make it through what I am doing and how I am feeling.... but I'm still scared. I need to keep reminding myself. One of the things I did to remind myself that I CAN and WILL be brave, is make this page for my art journal:

She represents me. She represents all women who are brave when they need to be, or have to be.  Be brave. I know you can.

(for those who are interested, the page was created with watercolor paints,  Liquitex acrylic inks, Neocolor crayons, acrylic paint, modeling paste, StazOn ink pad, stamps, gel medium and a black pen)

Thank you for stopping by!

I fully believe that bravery and courage can be found in the seemingly smallest acts - taking that new class, saying hello to a new person, making that difficult phone call. Bravery comes when you act, despite of fear, right? Stopping by from SITS!

This is an inspiring post. Thank you for sharing... your picture is amazing, and you are brave.

The only think I will say is that I think the word that describes someone who is never afraid or never feels fear is "insane."

Brave should be defined as being willing to face your fears and move forward regardless! Based on your post and picture - you are absolutely BRAVE!

I often think that what I consider brave others would laugh at, but we each have our own particular fears to face. Stopping by from SITS girls

Your watercolor is inspiring! And the one from your last post looks like something you could buy. :) Thanks for sharing your talent and your fears--I know that I often don't feel brave, especially in new situations and with new people.

We really are all brave in our own way when we need to be even if it's not superhero brave. Thanks for sharing. Coming from #SITSBlogging

I wish I was talented like that. I can only look through my viewfinder and see my world behind a lens. I'm not good with working with my hands and creating art with them. Just creating art with my mind. I love this piece. It's hard to be brave all the time but as a mother sometimes you have to put aside your fear and be strong and powerful for your family.

This is so beautiful! Thank you for sharing it. I think that our bravery manifests itself in so many different ways. We all need to be reminded, though, that we have that strong woman inside us!

Sometimes I wish I wasn't so brave. I always feel like I am walking around carrying the weight of the world on my shoulders. Sometimes being brave is saying no and walking away from tough situations.

I'm trying to be a little more brave every day (learn new things, speak up) and trying to teach my stepdaughter to be brave. Say what you feel. Do what you want. It is so important to be yourself and be brave!!!

Stopping by with comment love from your SITS group!
