I know that Christmas is over and some of you just don’t want to see anything to do with Christmas right now, but I wanted to share a holiday related Christmas gift that I gave my fiance’s mom using a GJS album. Her name is Joy, so I thought I would make her a Joy Banner. She collects anything with her name on it for the holidays. Perfect name to have at that time of the year!
Using the GJS Ornament Album, I took three of the pages and colored them using Dylusions mists, which was totally inspired by GJS DT member Christine Hatchell’s Ornament decorations in THIS POST. I adore how her ornaments turned out, so I used some Dylustions mist, embossing powder, glitter, microbeads and some mini ornaments.
The letters are modeling paste through some alpha stencils that are basic individual ones you can get at a hardware store for signs. They are some of my favorite stencils for adding larger letters. Plus, they are so much more durable than a lot of other stencils.
Below are close ups of each ornament…
After they were finished, I used some bakers twine to string them together. Joy opened this gift when we went to visit them over Christmas break. They were hanging over the fireplace on the mantle when we left.
Have a great night! Thanks for stopping by!
