Bringing Cheer

Hi! I know that Christmas is over with, but I really wanted to share with you my latest art endeavor. Art Journaling. Yes, I finally jumped on the bandwagon and got myself a journal and also. It officially started after I took the Dyan Reavely class in Kansas. Seeing Dyan create and teaching us how to create backgrounds using the awesome Dylusions Mists and stencils. 

And while I was there I had to pick up some stamps, and then not long after, I purchased the Dylusions Journal, completed my Dylusions Mists set, and got the stamping block. These allowed me to take more of what I learned and apply to making backgrounds, borders and such like Dyan taught us. I admit, I could have used other products, not just her products, but I got suckered into getting her stuff.... by myself! LOL, it was one of those, just have to have it moments... 

Anyway, here is one of the earlier journal pages I did around Christmas time.... 

It doesn't really have to be a Christmas page I suppose, but it was Christmas inspired. I need to outline the Bring Cheer. I am not entirely happy with it, but it's all a learning process, right? I love the wavy edge to the Dylusions Journal Block and use it all the time... I wish there were blocks with other edges... I can't wait until she comes out with that! And YES, I know that I could use the decorative scissors or do it myself.... but like so many other things in our crafty world, I want things simplified! 

Since making this I've done so many more journal pages which I will start sharing with you all. This is by no means even close to my best.... but that's ok. And I'm ok with that. :)
