If you know me well enough outside of the art world, one thing you will learn is my love of angels. I've always been completely fascinated with them, and frankly, anything with wings. So, when GJS brought out the Angel Wings album I was ecstatic! My heart had wings... and now I have some hearts with wings... literally, as you can see:
For my project today, I used not only the Angel Wings Album, but the Heart Album to create these hearts with wings. The whole heart with wings theme is still pretty big, and I know it has been done many times, but it never gets old to me.
I wanted the contrasting theme of Good and Evil or Light and Dark for my two hearts. So for the Good or Light set, I made a luscious red heart with white, fluffy and sparkly wings. It took various mists, paints, glitters, fabric and some modeling paste to achieve this look.
And for my Evil or Dark set, I used nails on my wings (I think it makes them look like what I refer to as pinfeathers on a bird when they are first growing in. It's a very naked and bare look. I added gears, chains, modeling paste, pouring medium and lots of mists and paints.
The wings currently have a new home on my living room wall until I find a more permanent place for them. Maybe in someone's home? I also thought about doing another set of hearts with wings but with the wings pointing down instead, for a different look. that will be a project for another day.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you've found inspiration from my project today!
