If you weren't aware, this week is National Teacher Appreciation Week. If you have children, I'm sure you were already aware, but if you don't have kids, this is the week where we show our appreciation for our teachers.... more than we already do. Because we all know that we should show them appreciation the entire year. :) It's hard though, and everyone knows this, which is one of the reasons why this week is great... it reminds everyone to do something special for that person who is educating their little ones.
This year I have been making artwork for the kids teachers whenever I get the time to work on one. I made a canvas for Serenity's teacher earlier this year and she loved it. Here is the canvas again, to remind you...
Like I said, her teacher loved it, and it sits on the window ledge by the teacher's desk.
After the original piece was such a hit, Austin asked me to make a canvas for his teacher. Well, I made this canvas for the 100 Proof Press/Genuinely Jane Studios Blog Hop...
I used the GJS Apple Album on the canvas for Austin's teacher... the two apples are pages from the album. They were easily added to the canvas.
When he came back and asked me to create another, smaller canvas for his student teacher I was happy to use the last page of the album.... along with some Creative Inspirations Paint, Um Wow Chipboard, Artistcellar stencil, modeling paste, acrylic paint and stamps, I made this...
I used the same technique to color and add lettering that I used for the original apple album canvas I made for the blog hop.
Below are some close ups...
Austin is excited to give both of these to his teachers. They are wrapped and will leave with him this morning. I can't wait to hear how they liked them. :)
Thank you for stopping by today! If your kids are in school, please let their teachers know how much they are appreciated. And if you homeschool, or teach your kids at home, YOU are appreciated!!! What you do is wonderful!
See you soon!!!
