So, as you know from past posts, I am a huge Steel Magnolias fan. It is such a great chick flick in general, and I have watched it well over a hundred times I am sure. The original, that is. I was EXTREMELY skeptical when I saw that Lifetime had a new, more modern version. So, I recorded it and watched it at a later date. However, it was not as bad as I had thought it might be.
Overall the cast did a great job... considering they had some big shoes to fill. No one will ever play the ladies the same way the original cast did. I was thankful that the script wasn't changed too much. That was a surprise. I assumed they would change more of it.
Would I watch this version a second time? No, probably not. But it was a nice change from the original, just this once.
Did any of you get to see it?? If so, what did YOU think??

I didn't see the redo version, but I saw the older version a couple years ago and thought it was cute. I'll have to check out the African American/new version of it. I love Queen Latifah and Phylicia Rashad.
I love the original and haven't seen the new one yet...hoping too soon!!!
