I recently found some GCD Studios papers that I purchased on clearance at Hobby Lobby a while back when I was cleaning out my stash. When I originally purchased them, I had planned on using them for some cards. I ended up using some other papers in the end though, so these got left behind and hidden in the stash. Today I pulled out the papers and finally used them.
I really wanted a lot of ink, paint, mist and distressing on the page. By the time I finished with this page, my hands were such a mess! But it turned out just the way I wanted it too, and that is what matters most. I love getting my hands all messy when I am creating. I am left feeling accomplished in the end. And the results are always rewarding.
I ended up taking some Prima flowers that I had and re-coloring them because they were too bright for my color palette. With a little layering and some vintage button centers, they turned out great. A Unity Stamp was used for the three flowers at the top. I've been using my stamps more and more these days and really getting the feel of using them. I never thought I would be stamping in my projects, but here I am doing it!
I took the photo of my birth certificate on my birthday to share with my Instagram friends that day. When I had my photos from my phone printed I realized the photo would look great on a layout. It's also a great way for me to have a something so important captured on paper. I would also like to scrap a copy of my full birth certificate at some point for my Book of Me. That would definitely make a great page to have in the album. :)
Thanks for stopping by today! Enjoy the rest of your day!
