Bumper Cars

Austin and Serenity both went to private preschools before they started Kindergarten. Once they were old enough for Kindergarten, we switched to public school. Both their dad and I went to public schools, so we wanted our kids to attend them as well. The only way we were planning on private for our children was if we lived in an area where the public schools weren't accredited. However, we lucked out, because Keith, my boyfriend and I moved to a wonderful school district. So the kids moved to public.

I am telling you this because it IS related to the photo in today's layout. The boy in the bumper car with Austin is his friend Quinten, who he went to preschool with. Quinten still lives in our old neighborhood, so he still attends the same private school that Austin used to attend for preschool. We had not really kept in touch with Quinten's parents except for Facebook, until we saw them at a soccer game in which both of our boys were playing. It was such a nice surprise to see them, so we set up a playdate for the boys. The playdate happened to be during the Brentwood Days, which is our towns yearly celebration. There is a parade, carnival with rides and more. Keith and I met up with Quinten's parents and took the boys along with Serenity around the carnival. It was so much fun!

Everyone has a favorite ride and for the boys it was the bumper cars. The rode it like three or four times! I loved seeing them have such a good time.

Scraps from a couple of Studio Calico kits were used to create this. I always have so many scraps left over in various sizes, so creating layouts like this is a great way to use up the scraps. I also like to use my scraps to make cards. I have a desk drawer dedicated solely to scrap pieces of patterned paper. What about you? How do you store your scraps and what do you use them for?

A close-up of the title... love my Thickers!!!

The boys.... super cute expressions on their faces!!!

Thanks so much for dropping by today! I hope you enjoy the rest of yours!!!
