iPhone Mini Album - Pretty Paper Party

Good morning party people! <----Wow, I sounded like a dork. LOL.  Today, I wanted to share the mini album that I created for prompt 18 of Shimelle's Pretty Paper Party. I started skipping around on the prompts and finally letting loose, and this was one of the party days I skipped to. Even though the party is pretty much over as far as prompts are concerned, I am still working on them. And I will continue to share until I make it through them all. So, I hope you don't mind!

I rarely make mini albums anymore, but I really was feeling one when I opened up my kit from Studio Calico. I recently subscribed to their kits, and when I opened up my package and saw the papers and embellishments, my mind immediately thought, "Mini Album!!!" So, a mini is what I made!

This mini was super easy to make. I picked out my favorite papers, and cut them down to 6x12. I then took one of the 6x12 pieces from each paper and folded it in half, making a 6x6 mini! I hand stitched the inside pages together and then used book binding tape to adhere them to the cover. Super super simple!!!

Here is the cover.

I really wanted a simple cover since the wood grain paper is so flippin' cute!! I had to leave it as it is! I used some washi tape down the spine of the book and kept my title very very simple with minimal embellishments as you can see!

I am always taking photos with my iPhone, and it has basically replaced my camera. I had printed out a lot of  4x4 photos via PostalPix and still had them lying around. Making a mini of an assortment of these photos was the perfect idea! I love that there really isn't a rhyme or reason to the photos in this album with regards to them all being similar, but they all have a story, and I told it. :)

This first page is just made of an assortment of scrap strips and washi tape that I had leftover after working on some of the other pages. (Another thing about me: I don't do my pages in order!) I love how it turned out. I journaled on a couple of the strips instead of the white spaces for something different. I like the contrast.

These next to pages are of some of the best places to take scenic walks in St. Louis. The photos are some of  my favorites that I have taken, especially the monument from the cemetery. I really didn't want to journal anything on that page in particular, so I just kept it to the name of the cemetery and some pretty embellies.

Two of the coolest cats you will EVER meet! Toby and Moe. Of course with all of the pictures I have taken of them on my iPhone, I had to include them in this album! If you are a Studio Calico subscriber or have purchased their kits, you know they include some really cute advertisement or packaging cards, and I had to use them in my album. I just flipped them over for the patterned side..... they are super cute!

The only two page spread in the book, dedicated to my dad and nephew, Aiden. In this kit from SC, there were chipboard butterflies by Sassafras Lass. The back of the packaging had all of the butterflies on it, so I took my bird punch, and punched out the birds you see on this layout! I am making the most of my scraps and packaging!! That has been my goal since starting Pretty Paper Party. I am doing well with it! Much better than I thought I would!

Of course, no album with photos from my phone would be complete without ones of my children! You thought I wouldn't have any, didn't you? Come on, fess up.... you were wondering! ;)

I'm getting hungry just looking at the sushi photo.... we really need to have a date night again and order some. Yumm!!! Traffic in St.Louis? We have it, and I snapped a picture of it just to share with you in this album! I made good use of the washi tape on these pages. Washi tape is just so fun to randomly place anywhere. It seems to look good, regardless of where you slap it on!

I do know there is no journaling on this page. At the time I took the photos, this was the last page I had left to do, but I was so giddy and excited about sharing it with everyone that I went and took the photos before I had it complete. Oh well, you get the just of it! This page was made of scraps I had left, and will have some journaling along the orange strip. Also some below the title. We love playing games and try to have family game night when we can. We LOVE Connect Four!!!

Well, I hope you have all enjoyed this insanely long post and album. I'm sorry for all of the chatter. I feel the need to explain everything I do sometimes. ;)

I think I am going to make another mini with the rest of my kit... would that be too much?? Nah, I don't think so! I have more iPhone photos and I want to have them all in albums. This is a perfect and quick way for me to get that done!

I will see you all back here later today, or tomorrow with another project from the Pretty Paper Party!!!
