Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree.....

Yes, I am in a holiday mood again! I hope you don't mind. I have another holiday canvas to share with you today that I created using some yummy Pink Paislee goodies that I had from last year. I just love making holiday projects that are in the non-traditional colors. It is tough sometimes to create a project for a specific holiday using colors that aren't the norm. My challenge to all of you, should you take it, is to create something for a holiday using non-traditional colors for your project. I can't wait to see what you create! This is the canvas I created. 

I used some lace/pearl ribbon for the garland around the tree. I added some paint to the paper so that it didn't look like I just slapped the paper on... it adds texture to the canvas. I did the same with the individual blocks of patterned paper. Doodles and outlining also helped. 

I wish I could tell you why I added the bird. I'm not entirely sure, but I like how it turned out.

The star on top of the tree was cut out of cork. I bought a sheet of cork for less than $3 at Michaels in the clearance section not knowing what I would do with it, and ended up creating some embellishments for some of my canvases with it. I like how it looks when colored. You can still see the texture.
