Love Life

As you know, I have recently been focusing more on actual layouts since I am taking Shimelle's Pretty Paper Party Class. I haven't created a canvas in a little over a week. The canvas below, called Love Life was my most recent creation before I started the class.

I hadn't created any scenes in a while and after I found my Flower Soft (which I couldn't find for a while) I decided to create a pretty tree. :) I used corrugated cardboard for the trunk and wrapped twine around it for some more texture. The grass is strips of patterned paper that I tore and overlapped. Heavy body acrylics were used to give it more of a painted look. I also used the heavy body acrylics for the sky as well.

Most of the flowers are rub ons I scattered throughout the grass. I did add some cabochons as well. Stamps  as always, were added for texture. :)

I cut out the kids from my October Afternoon 5 & Dime paper pad. I think they are so cute!! I thought about adding some of the farm animals, but I will save them for another canvas.

You can see my Tim Holtz Grungeboard bird in the tree and my Jenni Bowlin butterfly on the bottom of the tree. I wasn't originally sure about these two touches, but I like how they look.

Well, I will be back possibly tomorrow with some more projects from the Pretty Paper Party!!
