Holiday Family Photos and a Sick Child

Thought I would share our holiday family photo with you all. I used the Echo Park Wintertime collection to create this. I forgot I had this layout until I saw it the other day! We don't have many family photos where we are all actually together in the picture. It comes from the fact that I am usually the one behind the camera. Keith isn't the biggest fan of having his picture taken but he is always a good sport about it which I greatly appreciate as a scrapbooker! 

Here is our family photo from Christmas 2010 when we went to Ohio to see Keith's family. 

Considering we aren't all dressed up the photo didn't turn out too bad. And Joy's (Keith's Mom) Christmas tree looks great. She always decorates the house so pretty during the holidays. She has a tree in the family room downstairs that is decorated entirely with ornaments that have "Joy" on them. We call it the Joy Tree. LOL I have some photos somewhere that I should scrap of it sometime so that you can see. 

Today was spent at home with my baby girl, Serenity because she is sick. She is feeling a little better now but I attribute that to the fact that she is medicated and it has kicked in. I never realized why my mom always hated it so much when we were sick until I had children of my own. It is awful the way you feel when your children are sick! I hate seeing them feel that way. I wish it was me instead of them. We all feel this way, I know, but it just doesn't change the fact that no matter how many times our children get sick, we feel awful about it. It's as though we caused their illness, even though we didn't . The life of a parent, right? 

I'm just hoping she is doing well enough to go to school tomorrow.
