I was absolutely thrilled when I received an email from the lovely Tessa, owner of Precocious Paper that she wanted to feature a couple of my projects on the blog. What would a girl say besides yes!! I love Tessa's goodies and recently purchased the Autumn Afternoon September Sampler which I used to create these projects. If you haven't had a chance to get one of the samplers, you really should. They are reasonably priced and jam packed full of enough embellishments to make several projects. As you can see, I put them to good use!
The wreath that I decorated with the sampler was actually purchased at the Dollar Store! So for very little money, I created this beautiful Autumn wreath for our door. I've received so many compliments on it! Serenity has asked that I put it in her room when the season is over because she likes it so much!
The flowers that Tessa creates are wonderful, even when you stack two different styles together, like I did here. They compliment one another so well!
I'm in love with the butterflies, I'm not going to lie!
My second project using the Autumn Sampler was a mixed media piece created on canvas board. I have been doing a lot of work with the words Faith, Hope and Love. This one is based around the word "Hope." I found a wonderful quote online about hope that I used. The banner is created using bakers twine and some canvas that I had lying around. I cut the canvas into mini triangles for the banner flags and adhered it using a glue gun to the bakers twine and canvas board.
Rub-ons were used for the word "Hope." You can see the flowers from the sampler there in the corner. They really went well with this piece, and I like how I have the bird flying over them. Makes me think of hummingbirds.
That bird is a Tim Holtz Grungeboard bird that I used Distress Crackle Paint on. I then used some Glimmer mist and a stamp over the top. After all had dried, I outlined it.

I can't wait to create more with the rest of my goodies, and also I can't wait to get more stuff from Tessa!! Thanks so much again for the feature!!
