Allow your wings to let you Fly

Canvas Canvas Canvas!!!! One of the loves of my life. I have been spending a lot of time working on canvas recently.

This project, however, is from a couple of months ago or so... well, probably longer! When I took a hiatus from my art, I also took a hiatus from blogging as well, and have a bunch of old projects that I will be sharing with you over the next few weeks. I'm sure it will at least be that long, since I don't blog every day just yet. :)

I created this canvas for Austin's room using a Lucky Girl Crafts kit from a few months ago. It just screamed boy! And at that time, we had just moved Austin into his own room, after sharing with his sister for so many years, and his room was, well, kinda empty as far as the wall decor was concerned. I felt bad, and he has always been my biggest fan when it comes to my work, so of course, I made him something. :)

This was pretty easy to make. I just used some strips from one of the pieces of PP and cut out four strips for the border. The clouds I freehand cut out, then used my distress tool to rough up the edges a bit. Some glimmer mist was added to give it some shimmer.

The plane was a bit of a challenge for me. I know, looks pretty simple, right? Well, it wasn't until I found the paper piecing pattern that I used to make it! There are probably many more out there, but this was the best that I found and it worked perfectly. I actually got this paper piecing for the plane from Scrapbooksetc.com. After I cut out the individual pieces I distressed all of the edges. I love how they turned out.

Thanks so much for looking! Hope you are all doing well!
