I realized that I had not shared these creations I made for the kid's rooms. I wanted them to have something with their name on it for their rooms, so I created these. I used this awesome tutorial from Lesly Langdon over at the Shimmerz Educational blog.
I did not do everything exactly as she did, nor use all of the exact same products, but I have to give credit when due, because this is such an awesome look!!! My friend Angie B also used this technique and she is the one who linked me to the original tutorial!!
This is the one I created for Austin's room... .
A closeup of his name.... and all of those letters!
And here is the one I created for Renny's room.... she adore's it, and even tried to sleep with it!
And another closeup for you.... I ended up with a lot of texture on hers... I learned from doing Austin's the first time.
What's your opinion? I love that this is a great way for me to get rid of excess chipboard letters that I can't use for anything else. I have so many of them lying around it isn't funny. Not to mention, this is really cheap to create! I got a two pack of the canvases at Big Lots for $5. And the rest I had on hand. You can get Gesso at Wal-Mart for under $5 too. A cheap and fun creation for the home!
