One thing I love about Practical Scrappers is how we show you what you can do with your supplies. We are fortunate enough to get some awesome submissions from our readers to use as additional examples with the Design Teams. I love seeing all the ways people use their tools and products. I have learned additional techniques and ideas from others just through the various posts at Practical Scrappers!
Today and yesterday, we did features on using your border punches, whether on cards or layouts and all the many possibilities that there are for them! Today's feature was about border punches on layouts.... this was my example!
I used the "Sweet Love" Collection by Doodlebug Designs which can be found over at the HappyNScrappin' store. This line is fabulous for those love layouts and cards you may need to complete for Valentines Day. You can also use it for some Valentines projects and decor!
To emphasize the shoes the bride was wearing, I took a second photo of the same size and cut the shoes out in a circle, and use some foam squares to give it some dimension on the original photo. I will also admit, that this was done to cover up a mistake I made on the original photo. I wanted to use some embellies to draw out the one area of the photo. It didn't work and I had already completed the layout. So there I was with a finished layout and a messed up photo..... the only photo on the layout. What was I to do? That's when I realized I could take a second photo and "fix" the mistake.... but remember, there are no mistakes in scrapbooking, only room for embellishing!!!
Here are those border punches we are featuring.... I layered them..... I love how it looks!
Be sure to check out the feature at Practical Scrappers!!! And don't forget about the giveaway on the HappyNScrappin' Blog.... you have until tonight at midnight to enter to win some awesome prizes!!!!!
