30 Days of Truth Day 19

Day 19 → What do you think of religion? Or what do you think of politics?
One of these questions... my parents always told me, NEVER discuss religion OR politics with anyone. LOL... look at how that turned out. Actually, not so bad.

As far as politics goes.... I'd rather not talk about it. I'm not too political... I have my point of view on things, but I will not try to push it on anyone. I'm liberal. That should say enough. And I do agree with some of the more conservative things.... it just depends. I think most politicians are liars regardless of what party they represent, and that the system is somewhat corrupt. I do vote though, because it is my right!

When it comes to religion, I get perplexed. I don't know where I stand at this point. I think there are too many  denominations under the Christian blanket and it drives me bonkers. I get frustrated over seeing coffee shops in churches and them trying to build these monstrous buildings. It won't get you closer to God..... prayer and reading the Bible do that. Not building enormous buildings and selling Starbucks next to a Bible. And there are people who wonder why so many stop believing? Gee, wonder why? When I have to pay to hear God's word, I might get a little pissed.

Ok, so maybe I know where I stand. I believe in God.... I read the Bible. But I don't like to have to pay for my Bible. Nor should I feel the need to go to a church that is taller than the Sears Tower and has flashing lights pointing the way toward it. That isn't getting closer to God, in my opinion. That is conforming to what society THINKS will get them closer to God. That isn't going to get you into heaven. Following the word of God and giving to others that same word will help you get there if you believe in it.

I'll stop now! ;)

Hey thanks for commenting on my post. I didn't know anyone even looked at it anymore. ; ) I was going through your blog and saw this post and wanted to let you know that you can get the Bible free. There is an app for any smart phone, it's call YouVersion and it's the Bible for free on your phone. It has a bunch of different version too, like King James, NIV, The Message and more. Just thought I'd let you know. : ) Thanks for stopping by my blog.
