I love that I grew up in the country. There are so many things to do and see. We didn't have a big farm, but there was definitely plenty to do with the animals we had, and the various responsibilities we were given. I loved the house we lived in while I was growing up. It was two stories, white, four bedroom, one bathroom and a scary, wet basement. :) I was terrified to go in the basement! It was cold, wet and dark... a typical farm basement. Nothing like basements are in most city homes. You had to wear shoes when you went down there, and be careful about bugs and spiders! Eww!
My parents no longer live in the house I grew up in. They moved to my grandparents farm the year after my sister Dora graduated from High School. It was a good move in my eyes. The farmhouse is in much better condition and my parents no longer have to pay rent to anyone. The house is paid for. There are also other perks as well... such as the ponds available to go fishing in!
This is where today's creation comes in. We try to visit Papa and Grandma's house as often as possible. In the spring and summer we like to go fishing if we can. Austin recently has been able to cast the line himself with the pole. He uses a bamboo pole really well... that's what he is using in this picture.
I used September Week 2's Sketch from Sketchy Saturday's at Simply Scrapping Crafts. This weeks twist is to add lots of ink and distressing... and boy did I!! I had a blast!
The products I used can all be found over at Lucky Girl Crafts!! I used some components of several kits that we have over there.... I love the way this layout turned out. And YES you CAN use flowers on boy pages!!
Thanks so much for looking!
