A Cherry Pretty Girl

On this particular day we decided to go to the zoo with my brother. If you haven't figured out from any of my previous posts or layouts with Serenity, you should know that she is my little model/princess. She LOVES to dress up regardless of where we are going and how messy she may potentially get. She loves the warm weather months because she knows that she will get to wear more dresses than she does in the cold months. So of course my daughter decides that she wants to wear a dress to the zoo, where we will be walking around, getting sweaty and dirty. Didn't matter to her! She picked out one of her favorite dresses, the one with the cherries on it. (It's one of my favorites too!)

While we were waiting for Keith to meet us at the entrance Serenity decided she was going to do some modeling for us and the rest of the St. Louis Zoo visitors. When she wasn't paying attention, I managed to snap this shot of her looking at her Uncle Lance. It's a great shot... I love the pose and the look on her face. She has something on her mind, and is about to say something, I can just see it! That's why I like this one so much.

So with a little editing in Picknik, this is the photo I ended up with... isn't it sweet? ;)

Sketch 42 from Creative Genealogy Scrapbooking was posted this week, and it's the sketch that I used to create this layout. I used some Basic Grey paper, distressing, some gorgeous trim sprayed with Glimmer Mist and added some extra special touches to top off this layout, which is now one of my current favorites.
