Serenity, Serenity, Serenity.... I wish sometimes she was more like her name. Serene. She isn't always though. This morning was not so good for her. If she could express herself a little better, I'm sure she would tell anyone who asked that she woke up on the wrong side of bed... or something like that.
Anyway, she was a TOTAL Drama Queen today. It was bad. It started before we even got in the car this morning. She wanted to play first, then wanted to be the one to pick up all of her mess (don't get me wrong, this is normally a great thing, just not when you are in a hurry) and whined when I told her to put on her coat. We get on the coat, she doesn't let me zip it. Then right as we are at the car, she tells me she won't get in the car until her coat is zipped. I zip it.
I decide to stop at Starbucks for our usual drinks: mine is a Venti non-fat vanilla latte and hers a chocolate milk. Normally the milk is a boxed milk, but on occasion they have to make it. Today was one of those days. They put the milk in one of their small cups. A coffee cup without a straw. Now, Renny can drink from a cup just fine, but today she decided that she couldn't. She told me she was going to spill it without the straw... I told her she was fine and wouldn't spill it. My mistake. She dropped it on the floor then proceeded to scream, cry and scream. You would have swore that someone had dumped the chocolate milk on her. I remained calm, told her it would have to wait and then kept driving.
We get to her daycare and I discover the damage to my floor and her milk is minimal. There is even still some milk left which she carefully finished off. We start to walk to the daycare door, and on the sidewalk is a large patch of ice. She stops in front of the ice and I tell her it's ok, and to just walk around it so she doesn't slip. Once again... my mistake. Never tell the child what will happen if they do something. Esp with a Drama Queen like I have. She actually got all the way around the ice, not stepping on it once.... and then out of the blue right in front of the door, wipes out on NOTHING, completely NOTHING! What??!! OMG, she commenced the fit again. Wow... it could have won an academy award!! She was that good. Except one little thing: NO TEARS.
Yup, my daughter the Drama Queen. I love her so much.

Your daughter and mine could be best friends!!! They would send us both to the asylum with that team up but they could. Esme has been running in a crying fit to her room, slamming the door and pouting at every tiny thing for the last couple days. I need some meds! LOL!
WOW. I feel so much better. Just knowing I'm not the only one going through those kinds of mornings is so great! Thanks for sharing!!!
