Genuinely Jane Studios/100 Proof Press "Welcome Spring" Blog Hop!!!

Hello! Welcome to the Genuinely Jane Studios and 100 Proof Press stamp "Welcome Spring" blog hop!! The hop starts at 5pm EST today and will end at Midnight EST on Sunday April 7th.  If you are following the hop in order, you came here from Sara's blog. If not, you can start the hop at 100 Proof Press We are happy to have you join us!

If you aren't familiar with these two awesome companies, here is a bit of background on each of them:

Genuinely Jane Studios: Genuinely Jane Studios (GJS) manufactures small and medium sized mini-albums for scrapbooking, mixed media and altered arts in a variety of shapes and sizes. 100% American-made, our facility is located in rural, north-central Missouri and uses only the highest quality materials.
All Genuinely Jane products are crafted by hand in our on-site facility.  We hand-select the best pieces of natural wood for each product.
100 Proof Press: Since 1980, 100 Proof Press, Inc. has been manufacturing high quality graphic images in premium red rubber. Today their catalog contains over 2500 timeless images, finely detailed and visually diverse.
The stamps are manufactured in the Midwest, with attention to detail second to none. The images are deeply etched and then expertly trimmed on a Hagner scroll saw, thus providing an amazingly close and perfectly perpendicular cut. Nothing prints better. The wood mount is smooth hard maple, 3/4" high with curved sides. The design is never bulky; we always use a mount which is custom cut to fit the image that goes on it. The index on top is permanently stamped in jet black printers ink. It's sharp looking and will never come off.

As you can see, we have a mash up of two wonderful companies in the art industry!

For the hop I made a canvas for Austin's teacher who is such a wonderful woman. She deserves something nice for all she has done this year for my son and his classmates. I can't wait for Austin to give this to her.

I figured Spring and School went together.... the colors of this are bright and make me happy, just like Spring... so I think it works!

To create this canvas, I used the Apple Album (G012) from Genuinely Jane Studios. I took two of the pages, altered them and adhered them to the background I created on the canvas. From 100 Proof Press, I used the Gears (#5365) and Typing Keys (#5611) stamps on the background of the canvas, as well as on the red apple. I also used the Wood Grain Rectangle (#1550) stamp on the green apple's leaf. It is a little harder to see, but it added some fantastic texture to the leaf and really made the wood of the album below pop!! You can see the stamps better in the close ups below.

As you can see, the stamps really add some awesome texture to the piece. I fell in love with these stamps! They are definitely a go-to for me from now on. :)

I hope you have enjoyed my little project for this hop and see how fantastic and versatile the albums and stamps are!

If you need a recap of the stops on the hop, here is the full list:
