Good morning friends! How has your week gone? It's almost over... hooray! My weeks seem to all run together these days. We have been busy at work. The funny thing is, it effects me in a different way than it used to. Being busy that is. When I worked in hotels, I used to not only be busy at work, but I would also take it home as well. My work didn't just stop at work, it went home with me as well, which severely took away time from my family and hobbies. So, I first gave up my hobby of scrapbooking, and Design Teams which I thought would allow me time for my family. I was wrong... I still wasn't getting enough time with the family. So I ended up leaving hotels all together. After being out of them for a while I decided I wanted to go back to creating for stores/companies if I could. Which is how I got to where I am today.... and I am super happy and stress free! And throughout it all I kept my online friends and at home family! Thanks to those of you who have been around from the beginning. I appreciate your support. :)
Today I have a layout for you that I created for Happy N Scrappin' using My Mind's Eye The Sweetest Thing - Lavender Collection. This color combo of The Sweetest Thing collections is definitely sweet. I immediately thought "little girl" when I saw it. And because I have a little girl, it worked out perfectly!
In addition to the MME papers from the store, I also used a ton of Shimmerz on my flowers and swirl! I love the shimmer that it gives when it catches the light!
If you look closely, you can see the shimmer!
I chose to hide the majority of my journaling on a tag that was painted with more Shimmerz and tucked behind the title. I adhered the title on the sides and bottom only to create the pocket for my journaling. I then added a Shimmerz'd flower to the corner. :)
When I look at these photos as I am typing this, I get a sense of relief. I have come so far in the past nine months.... I'm proud of myself. I rarely say that, but I needed to say it on here. This way, when I am down again... which will happen at some point, I can look back and use this to motivate me. I finally have time for my family and my love of crafting. I am not taking phone calls 24/7 from staff about problems that I can't fix or control. I enjoy what I currently do for a job. No, it's not where I want to be five years from now, but it works for the time being and we aren't suffering with the cut in pay. We are all happy in this house.
I just wanted to share that. Thank you!
See you soon!
